Google has launched its streaming device, Chromecast into the Indian digital markets on December 10, 2014 after its first release in the U.S in June of 2013. Google almost took 18 months to have its device get launched into second most populous country, India. 

Google set the device’s price at Rs. 2999. Google released the product in partnership with Bharti Airtel, Snapdeal and Eros Now in the Great Online Shopping Festival (GOSF – 2014) Event, in commence from December 10 – 12, 2014. As promotional offers, Bharti Airtel is providing its current customers 20 GB of data free per month for 3 months on broadband plans and exempting Rs.1000 subscription fee from its new customers.

Snapdeal is providing free home delivery including cash on delivery option. Eros Now is permitting the buyers with free full access to its channel videos for 2 months. Thus the Internet giant joined the hands of the leaders in three distinct arenas of service.

The giant is set to make its footprint once again in the Indian markets after its first footprint in the form of Android One Program, launched in the October of 2014, to aid the handset manufacturers like Micromax to make their phones compatible with Android OS.
